Failures when importing CTFs into e1
A number of schools have reported failures when importing CTF files into e1 giving a 'UPN already exists' error. Our initial investigation into these issues would indicate the problem is related to where schools are adding records manually rather than importing CTF files for new pupils.
Where possible, please can schools avoid creating new records when receiving pupils from within Norfolk. If you attempt to manually add a new pupil, e1 will normally warn you if the pupil is on the system. At that point, a CTF should be requested from the school the pupil has left or is about to leave.
Information on exporting CTF files to an e1 schools can be found at http://www.eficts.norfolk.gov.uk/schoolmanagement/e1/pupil_export/ctf_creating_e1.aspx and to see how to import from an e1 school go to http://www.eficts.norfolk.gov.uk/schoolmanagement/e1/pupil_import/ctf_importing_e1.aspx
Information on sending a CTF file to a non–e1 school can be found at http://www.eficts.norfolk.gov.uk/schoolmanagement/e1/pupil_export/ctf_creating.aspx and for how to import a CTF files from a non-e1 can be found at http://www.eficts.norfolk.gov.uk/schoolmanagement/e1/pupil_import/ctf_importing.aspx
