Fronter VLE End of Year Roll Over
A reminder to all schools who are due to carry out their MIS end of year roll over in June, please will you read through the documentation produced by Fronter to help you through this process. Schools must turn off their Fronter MIS integration before carrying out the roll over within the school MIS or this may cause issues. Schools should then read and carry out the steps contained within the start of year process documentation and videos. Once the process has been followed the Fronter MIS integration can be switched on again. Please see below for links to the resources to help with the Start of Year process:

Windows 7 & Windows Server 2008R2 Update
You may be wondering why as an authority we haven’t released Windows 7 yet? We have been and are currently evaluating and extensively testing the Windows 7 environment both 32 & 64 bit to ensure compatibility with the current recommended curriculum and non curriculum software installed within schools, including:-
-
Standard Product Set – Full functionality
-
Anycoms – Amending scripts
-
Star Accounts – Full functionally
-
Winsuite – Not compatible with Windows 7 and Server 2008, we have to replace with the use of Windows Group policies
-
Server 2008R2 – Requiring new policies and procedures
-
Peripheral devices are dependent on the manufacturers support
-
Asset Manager – Not compatible with Windows 7 64bit.
Once this testing has been completed we will be looking to release Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 both Admin and curriculum usage from September 2010 for schools.
Pilots are being run from mid June in 3 schools in the County to ensure that you will receive a fully functioning stable curriculum and non curriculum ICT provision once we offer the new products from September.
