Internet content filtering

A change is being made to our Internet service to make it more friendly when you view a web page that has been filtered due to inappropriate content. The new filtered message will show the category which the page has been filtered against and a sample page can be viewed online.

Requests to block or allow web pages via the Norfolk Schools Internet should be made to the ICT Solutions Service Desk.

This change will take place over the Easter Holidays.

Domain registration offers from 3rd parties

Please be aware that we have had a report from a school approached by a third party regarding registration of domains. The third party stated that they wanted to register domains based upon the school name in order to set up email accounts on these domains.

We would like to remind schools that they already have established domains as part of their broadband contract and to contact ICT Solutions if you require advice on setting up or using websites or email provision. Please be wary of third parties offering unnecessary chargeable services which are not NCC approved.
