How to create staff and student TAB files 

 
Bromcom is not SIF-enabled, which means the school must manually create and submit a file for the pupils and members of staff to ICT Solutions 
 
Once the file has been created in Bromcom and uploaded via AnyComms, the account generation service is automatic, so you can easily provide the required data in tab file format and receive the processed information with account credentials within a few hours 
 
Note: submitting the files affiliates the pupil or staff member with your school
 
Affiliation keeps the email accounts “live”, we therefore advise schools to send in an up to date TAB file, with Pupil and Staff details at least once per calendar month or when there is a change; new staff member, someone leaves etc 
 
Note: TAB files should always contain a full list of all pupils and staff who currently require Google NSIX accounts at your school
 

How to run the report within Bromcom 

 
Navigate to Reports > Adhoc > View all reports 
 
 
Click in the Administration folder 
 
 
Choose the Pupil Email Export or the Staff Email Export 
 
 
Click on Run 
 
 
Click on Export 
 
 
In the Format drop down menu choose Comma Separated Variable (.CSV) 
 
Un-tick the Save DMS Copy (the Save Local Copy will populate) 
 
 
Click on Done 
 
 
A download pop up will appear, click on Show all
 
 
Click on Show in Folder 
 
 
Open the file 
 
 
The click on File | Save As
 
 
Choose your desktop 
 
Change the filename to read xxxx_pupil or xxxx_staff (xxxx being your DfE Number) 
 
 
Then open up the Save as Type and Choose Text (Tab delimited) (*.txt) 
 
 
Click on Save 
 
 
Select Yes at the next screen
 
Close the file, if you get an option to save click on Don’t Save
 
Find the file on your desktop and right click on it 
 
Click on Rename 
 
Change the .TXT to .TAB, you may get a message click on Yes 
 
 
The icon image will change, this is normal
