Taking Screen Shots

To assist our support teams with any issues that you are reporting, screenshots prove invaluable to the process. The following page will help show you how to do this.

Desktop or Laptop

To capture the entire screen (everything you see on the screen, including all open windows), press the 'Print Screen' or 'PrtSc' button on your keyboard.

If you do not have a Print Screen key, the Windows 10/11 shortcut of Shift+Win+S can be used.

You can then paste the screen shot in an email or in a blank word document and send it to us. Open the application you wish to paste the screen shot in and either right click your mouse and paste or press Ctrl and V at the same time.

Please remember when capturing a screenshot to close any sensitive information first.

Snipping Tool

The Snipping tool is a quick and easy application that is available in Windows 8 and above. It will allow you to capture all of your screen or selected options and windows.

First you will need to find the Snipping tool. You may wish to add it to your task bar so it is quick to find when you need to use it. By tapping the Windows key you should then be able to search for it amongst the list of applications available to you.

Once you have opened the Snipping tool, click on the ‘New’ option and select the required snip option:

Free-form snip Draw a free-form shape around an object.

Rectangular snip Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.

Window snip Select a window, such as a browser window or dialog box that you want to capture.

Full-screen snip Capture the entire screen.

After you capture a snip, it's automatically copied to the Snipping tool window. From there you can annotate, save, or share the snip. You can also simply paste the snip by either right clicking your mouse and selecting paste or press Ctrl and V at the same time.
