How to create a pupil TAB file
RM Integris is not SIF-enabled, which means the school must manually create and submit a file for the Pupils and members of Staff to ICT Solutions
Once the file has been created in RM Integris and uploaded via Anycomms the account generation service is automatic, so you can easily provide the required data in TAB file format and receive the processed information with account credentials within a few hours
Note: Submitting the files affiliates the pupil or staff member with your school
Affiliation keeps the Email accounts “live”, we therefore advise schools to send in an up to date TAB file, with Pupil and Staff details at least once per calendar month or when there is a change; new staff member, someone leaves etc
Note that tab files should always contain a full list of all pupils and staff who currently require Google NSIX accounts at your school
Navigate to Reports > Ad Hoc Reporting – Simple
Click on Ad Hoc Reports Manager
Select the + sign to create a new report
Type the name of the report – e.g XXXX_Pupil, where XXXX refers to your 4 digit DCFS number
Select Student in Type
Select Share this report with all users this will make it available to others in your school.
In Report Style select Export
Select Comma in the Delimiters
Choose None in the Text qualifier
Click on Next
From the left hand column, select the required Data Items, by clicking the + sign beside the relevant column, selecting the Item required and > to move it to the Included in report field
It is important to add the Data Items in the correct order
The finished build should be as below
Click on Next
Remove Allow sorting to be changed at runtime
Click on Next
Click on Finish
The report will show in your list of Ad Hoc Reporting – Simple and will appear in the Shared Reports area for others users
How to run the report
Check you have set up a Whole School query before running the report
Navigate to Reports > Ad Hoc Reporting – Simple
Select My Ad Hoc Reports or Shared Reports
Click on the report
In the Select Saved Query, from the drop down, select your Whole School query and select the refresh icon
Student names will load, select the Hand on the right hand side of the screen to select all
Click on Generate Report
The file will appear at the bottom of the screen
Amend and Convert the file to a TAB file
Open the CSV file by double clicking on it, it will open in Excel (this is normal)
Click on File and Save As
From the Save as type dropdown, select Text (Tab delimited)
Click on Save
A message will appear asking if you want to save as text (tab delimited)
Select the cross top right to close excel
Click on Don’t Save if a message appears
Navigate to the folder you have placed the file in
Right click and Rename the file name to xxxx_Pupil.tab (Your 4 digit dfe number)
A message will appear select Yes
